Floater/Assistant Teacher
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Floater/Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This role provides vital support across classrooms, ensuring a nurturing and effective learning environment for children of various ages. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, a strong understanding of childhood development, and the ability to adapt to different classroom settings. Prior experience with special education, Montessori methods, or working with children with disabilities is highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to curriculum development, classroom management, and individualized child support in a dynamic educational setting.
This role is vital in supporting our educators and ensuring every child receives quality care and instruction tailored to their developmental needs.
Duties
Support classroom activities that promote social-emotional growth and behavior management
Help maintain a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management techniques
Support daily routines such as meal times, nap times, and transitions for toddlers and preschool-aged children
Engage children in age-appropriate activities that foster early childhood development and curiosity
Assist with classroom setup, cleanup, and organization to ensure a safe and welcoming space for all children
Communicate effectively with parents and team members regarding children's progress and needs
Requirements
Experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, private school, or similar settings
Familiarity with special education strategies, behavior management, and working with children with autism or disabilities
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and families
Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments as a floater or assistant teacher
CDA credential or FCCPC are required for this position. AA or AS Degree are preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
