OMG's Roofing Products Division is a leading manufacturer and global supplier of high-performance, Factory Mutual-approved products for the commercial roofing industry. We manufacture highly engineered roofing fasteners, insulation adhesives and roof drains and supply other rooftop components. OMG's RhinoBond Membrane Fastening System is the fastest growing method of single-ply attachment in the commercial roofing industry. Joining our process engineering group, you will report to our R&D Manager and be responsible to become the "Subject Matter Expert" in each of our manufacturing departments. You will need to apply state-of-the-art technology to find solutions - facilitate breakthroughs in productivity and advance processes. Blend your education, hands-on experience, and engineering talents into a dream opportunity.Position ResponsibilitiesPromote Safety as the Number One Priority of all OMG employees.Designs, develops, tests, and implements automated systems to improve efficiency and productivity.Provide support for the integration of these systems with troubleshooting and maintenance.Seek out opportunities across the company to lend your technical support.Acquire a detailed understanding of the construction applications we serve and the products we market.Develop skills in computer modelling, computer-aided engineering, simulation, rapid prototyping, and statistical analysis.Communicate in written and oral form that is clear, concise, and tailored to the targeted audience.Drive accountability, creativity, and quality across all phases of workAttend conferences, trade shows, seminars and classes that expand the reach of knowledge into other areas - look for technology solutions outside of the construction world.Position RequirementsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science; advanced degrees are preferred.Strong curiosity and a natural enthusiasm for understanding how things work.Creative and persistent problem-solving skills.Self-motivated with a strong sense of personal accountability.Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.Proven hands-on aptitude.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Programming experience such as PLC logic, GUI interfaces, and/or languages like Python, Java, or C++.Experience with applied statistics.Proficiency in SolidWorks, GD&T, and Finite Element Analysis (COMSOL experience is a plus).Experience with rapid prototyping methods.Knowledge of metal forming and machining (a plus).Understanding of basic material science and strength of materials.Exposure to mechatronics is a plus.Physical RequirementsAbility to talk and hear, walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Ability to access roofs up to 60 feet in height using ladders or other similar tools.
