The Radiology Service at our organization is on the lookout for a Diagnostic Radiologist specializing in Neuroradiology and Nuclear Medicine Radiology. We encourage recent graduates from 2025 to consider applying!Located in Phoenix, Arizona, the Radiology Service at the Phoenix VA Health Care System (PVAHCS) offers a range of subspecialty services, catering to both inpatient and outpatient needs, as well as emergency care for Veterans throughout central Arizona. As one of the largest clinical departments within PVAHCS, our Radiology Service comprises over 130 staff members across nine specialty divisions, including: Staff Radiology, Vascular and Interventional Radiology, CT Services, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Breast Imaging, Diagnostic Radiology, MRI Services, and Clerical Services. Each division operates with its own unique procedures and systems for managing patient flow, scheduling, quality assurance, and adherence to regulations. Currently, our Phoenix Radiology department is staffed by 24 radiologists who provide both subspecialty and general radiology coverage.Work ScheduleMonday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.Compensation and BenefitsSalary: Competitive compensation package, with potential earnings up to $400,000 annually, plus an annual performance bonus and regular salary increments.Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): A reimbursement initiative for student loan payments, offering up to $200,000.*Sign-on Bonus: Available for exceptionally qualified candidates.Paid Time Off: Enjoy 50 to 55 days of paid time off each year, which includes 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and a possible 5-day paid absence for Continuing Medical Education (CME).Retirement: Access to a traditional federal pension plan (with a 5-year vesting period) and a federal 401k plan with contributions of up to 5% from the organization.Insurance: Comprehensive federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance options (many of which can be maintained into retirement).CME: Potential reimbursement of up to $1,000 per year for continuing education.Malpractice Coverage: Liability protection is provided at no cost, including tail coverage.Contract: No Physician Employment Contract is required, and there are minimal restrictions on moonlighting.Employment RequirementsA Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent qualification from an accredited medical or osteopathic institution.Possession of one full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory, with the obligation to maintain an active and unrestricted status.U.S. Citizenship is mandatory; non-citizens may only be appointed if qualified citizens cannot be recruited, in accordance with VA Policy.*Note on the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): This position qualifies for the EDRP, which offers student loan reimbursement. Candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria as per VHA policy and submit their EDRP application within four months of starting. Approval, award amounts (up to $200,000), and eligibility duration (one to five years) will be determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after a thorough review of the application.
