The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instrumental music, including significant experience leading an instrumental ensemble. Other experience, including but not limited to, teaching applied lessons on the candidate's primary instrument, teaching classes in conducting, instrumentation and arranging, music theory, or other related areas are desirable. This is a one-year position, though we anticipate a search for a full-time, tenure-track position for Director of Bands to commence in the Fall. The successful candidate for this position would be eligible to apply for the full-time position.Essential Job DutiesParticipate in recruiting efforts for the music programDirect the university Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble each semesterTeach other classes as needed, dependent on the successful candidate's qualifications.
