Electrical Engineer - Aerospace & Defense Systems (Contract / Temp) Location: Austin, TX Pay Rate: $74.04/hour We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer for a contract assignment supporting advanced test, measurement, and automated system design solutions for complex engineering applications. This role focuses on system-level design, integration, and deployment of custom hardware/software solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative technical environment. This position requires strong expertise in electrical engineering, test systems, and hardware/software integration, with the ability to work directly with customers, engineering teams, and external partners to deliver turnkey solutions. Key ResponsibilitiesWork with customers, engineering teams, and partners to define system requirements and technical specificationsDevelop requirements documents, statements of work, and bills of materials (BOMs)Design, prototype, test, and deploy automated test and measurement systemsManage project plans, milestones, and technical deliverables to ensure successful deploymentSupport hardware/software integration and system validation activitiesTroubleshoot complex system issues and drive resolution of field problemsProvide technical leadership and guidance to support engineering and project teamsCollaborate across global, multi-disciplinary teams and external suppliersTravel up to 25% (domestic and international) as required Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field7+ years of experience in hardware systems design or test engineeringStrong knowledge of electrical engineering, electronics, and computer architectureExperience with programming languages such as LabVIEW, TestStand, C, C++, or C#Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and system designsExperience with instrumentation selection, measurement systems, and data analysis (Cp, Cpk, GR&R)Knowledge of CAD and PCB design toolsStrong problem-solving and system integration skills(must be eligible for ITAR and DoD clearance) Preferred SkillsHands-on experience with NI hardware platforms, LabVIEW, and TestStandPCB design and schematic capture experienceKnowledge of compliance standards (CE, UL, TV)Experience in component selection and supplier management Employee BenefitsMedical, dental, vision, and pet insurance401(k) Retirement Savings PlansEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Commuter/Parking AccountsPeople PerksHealth Savings Account (HSA)AD & D Insurance This is a high-impact engineering role supporting complex, mission-critical system development in a fast-paced technical environment.
