Plano, TX | PTS Advance U.S based Candidates OnlyOverviewPTS Advance is seeking a Senior MEP Mechanical Engineer to support complex building systems design across commercial, institutional, and mixed-use projects. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical/HVAC design within an AEC environment and an active Engineer in Training (EIT) certification at minimum.The ideal candidate will come directly from an AEC consulting firm and be capable of leading mechanical design efforts while coordinating closely with multidisciplinary teams.Key ResponsibilitiesLead mechanical/HVAC design for building systems across multiple project types (commercial, healthcare, institutional, industrial)Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and system selectionDevelop construction documents, specifications, and engineering reportsCoordinate with electrical, plumbing, structural, and architectural disciplinesParticipate in client meetings and project design reviewsSupport senior engineers and project managers in delivering high-quality, code-compliant designsConduct site visits, field observations, and construction administration supportEnsure compliance with applicable building codes, ASHRAE standards, and local regulationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldEngineer in Training (EIT) certification requiredMinimum 5–8+ years of experience in an AEC consulting engineering firmStrong HVAC design experience in building systems (MEP focus)Proficiency with industry software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, HVAC load calculation tools)Solid understanding of mechanical codes, energy standards, and construction practicesStrong communication and coordination skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience working toward PE licensure (or actively pursuing)Experience leading small project teams or mechanical design packagesExposure to sustainable design / energy-efficient systems (LEED, etc.)Prior experience in fast-paced consulting environmentsWhy JoinOpportunity to work with a growing AEC-focused engineering teamExposure to diverse, high-impact building projectsCareer growth toward Project Manager and PE licensureCollaborative, technically driven environment based in Plano, TX
