Visit www.coletobrands.com.Job DescriptionColeto Brands, parent Company of Progress Lighting and Kichler, is seeking to fill a strategic and hands-on Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead safety, environmental compliance, and risk reduction efforts across our multi-site distribution network. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to the Director of Distribution and site leadership teams, driving a culture of continuous safety improvement while ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state regulations. The EHS Manager will be based at our Jefferson, GA distribution center and will travel approximately 20% to support our Braselton GA and Las Vegas NV distribution centers, Greenville SC microsite, and Solon OH corporate headquarters.This leader will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive health and safety programs that protect our associates, the public, and the environment. The role requires a thorough understanding of distribution center operations, regulatory requirements, risk management, emergency response, and a strong commitment to building upon our existing safety foundation while introducing innovative frameworks for sustained excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Program Development & LeadershipReview, evaluate, and enhance existing safety policies and procedures across all distribution facilities, building upon our current foundation while introducing new frameworks for continuous improvementDevelop and implement proactive educational and intervention programs including behavioral safety, ergonomics, powered equipment safety, dock operations, and material handling best practicesDevelop metrics to support and drive safety performance, demonstrating the positive financial impact of prevention efforts on key indicators including insurance experience rates, workers' compensation costs, and lost workdaysRegulatory Compliance & Environmental StewardshipEnsure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local legislation and codes governing environmental health and safety, including OSHA, EPA, ADA, and other related regulationsServe as primary point of contact with regulatory agencies, ensuring that all safety and environmental requirements are met across all locationsComplete all environmental reporting to local and federal agencies as required by law, ensuring accuracy and timely filingOversee proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials including batteries and lighting products to prevent contamination and ensure environmental complianceTraining & EducationIdentify company safety training needs and develop comprehensive training programs tailored to distribution center operationsCoordinate safety training programs including new hire safety orientation, monthly safety training, forklift certification, powered equipment operation, and emergency proceduresIncident Management & InvestigationConduct thorough root cause analysis of all accidents and incidents to determine underlying causes and develop corrective action plansFacilitate accident investigations and implement recurrence prevention programs and proceduresCollaborate with HR Manager and site leadership to coordinate workers' compensation claims management, focusing on return-to-work programs, claims analysis, and settlement recommendationsRisk Assessment & Emergency PreparednessConduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential hazards across distribution operations and develop strategies to mitigate themMonitor and audit workplace practices through regular facility inspections to ensure ongoing complianceDevelop, test, and monitor emergency action plans and evacuation procedures for all facilitiesCoordinate emergency response efforts, including drills and real-time incident managementAdministrative & Program ManagementManage workers’ compensation cases, including injury reporting, claim documentation, coordination with insurance providers, and return-to-work supportOversee safety committees across facilities, developing and updating safety policies to ensure safe working environmentsMaintain and update safety procedures, authorization lists, evacuation plans, safety signage, and communication materialsSelection, inventory management, and distribution of personal protective equipment and first aid suppliesInitiate and coordinate required annual medical screening programs according to OSHA requirements and company policyQualificationsEducation & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Management, or related discipline4-7 years of demonstrated experience in an EHS role, preferably in distribution center, supply chain, manufacturing or retail environmentsIn-depth knowledge of EHS regulations, OSHA standards, EPA requirements, and industry best practicesWorking knowledge of federal and state OSHA safety and health regulations with ability to effectively communicate and implement regulatory requirementsExperience managing workers' compensation claims and case managementEnvironmental and regulatory compliance program development and managementGeneral knowledge of safety/facility engineering, ergonomics, and distribution center operationsKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies is preferredCertified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or equivalent certifications is a plusProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Physical Requirements & TravelAbility to travel approximately 20% to support Braselton GA, Las Vegas NV, Greenville SC, and Solon OH locationsAbility to conduct facility inspections requiring walking, standing, climbing, bending, and reaching for extended periodsCapability to work in distribution center environments with varying
