SQL DeveloperThe SQL Developer is responsible for database design ensuring stability, reliability and performance on platforms that span multiple applications and environments.Duties and Responsibilities:Successful candidate will perform a combination of the functions shown below, plus other duties as assigned.Recommend and develop data strategies to address industry requirements and business needsLeverage modern software development and DevSecOps tools and processes to automate repetitive tasksProvide support for database activities in Azure and AWSParticipate in developing meaningful cloud metrics and reportingParticipate in database platform recommendations including backups, clustering, mirroring, replication, failover and high availabilityMentor teammates through education and supportAnalyze expensive provisioning, queries, deadlocks and/or bottlenecks and remediate accordinglyEssential Duties:Develop, design, monitor and support MS SQL and SQL Azure DatabasesSkills Required:Knowledgeable on MS SQL Server 2012-2017 and Azure databases as a serviceCapable of running Perfmon or SQL tools to analyze and troubleshoot SQL performance and capacityCapable of writing and troubleshooting store procedures and triggersKnowledge of Azure DevOps and GIT developmentAbility to function as a team player and multi-task in a fast-paced environmentStrong interpersonal and communications skills; capable of writing proposals or papers, acting as a vendor liaison and making presentations to customers or professional peersAbility to develop technical specifications and interpret business requirementsCapable of managing and working on multiple projects and tasksAbility to automate processes and manage priorities effectively to achieve optimal resultsStrong understanding of IIS, Active Directory and DNSCapable of designing and tuning databases for custom applicationsDesired:C# or similar programming languageEducation:Required:Bachelor's degreeDesired:Master's degreeCertification(s), Licenses:Desired:Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) preferred.Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) preferredYears of experience in a similar role:Required:Two-plus years of MS SQL Development and AdministrationTwo-plus years of working with MS SQL as the backend for an enterprise applicationDesired:Two-plus years of C# developmentTwo-plus years of.NET developmentPhysical Demands:Standing 10% per daySitting 80% per dayWalking 5% per dayStooping 5% per dayLifting Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassistedComputer Work 80% per dayTelephone Work 10% per dayReading 10% per dayOther, please specifyAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.If you need an accommodation seeking employment with DSS, Inc., please email jobs@dssinc.com or call (561) 284-7373.
