Depending upon the sentence, youth may remain in OCFS custody until the age of 21.MSC is accredited by the American Correctional Association and has a current population of approximately 27 youth. Currently, there are no vaccine requirements.Supervision staff will be present when the employee is providing nursing care to youth. Other duties include, maintain inventory standards for medicines, controlled drugs and narcotics.Review the overall health condition of youth by preparing and continually reviewing and evaluating plans of nursing intervention to ensure that such interventions are consistent with specific and comprehensive treatment plans. Participate in staff training, prepare clinical and administrative reports, maintain infection control standards, and function as a member of a treatment team. Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview.Qualifications: Licensed and currently registered to practice nursing in New York State.HOURS: Days - 6:30a-2:30p, alternating weekends, pass days to be discussed; 40 hrs per week w/ 30 minute lunch break PLEASE NOTE: Resumes are STRONGLY PREFERRED to be accompanied with all bids. **Background Investigation Requirements: 1) All prospective employees will be investigated through a Criminal Background Check (CBC), which includes State and federal Criminal History Record Checks. Prospective employees will be fingerprinted in order to obtain a record of their criminal history information.2) All prospective employees will be screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR).3) Prospective appointees will be checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. All background requirement fees will be paid by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (NYS OCFS), therefore there will be no background check reimbursement for this position.
