Provides care for patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist/Cardiologist.Responsibilities:Performs cardiac and interventional procedures in accordance with established department protocols and within standard time frames. Prepares and orients patients to procedures to be performed.Provides patient care to patients while in the Cath Lab.Provides radiation protection to patients, fellow workers and him or herself.Operates imaging equipment, computer and other department equipment. Maintains and operates equipment in accordance with department and manufacturer's recommendations.Prepares and maintains written or computerized documentation in accordance with department and hospital policy.Maintains supplies and accessories in work area on a regular basis.Maintains orderliness and cleanliness in work area.Is cooperative and helpful in a clear and courteous manner to patients, visitors, physicians, staff and co-workers.Maintains and exhibits a current knowledge of cardiovascular and interventional technology. Participates in professional continuing educational workshops and programs.Provides coverage after normal hours of operation on an on-call basis.Performs various Point of Care testing procedures.Customer Relations:Exhibits behaviors and actions that create a high level of patient/customer satisfaction, positive patient/customer relations, and respect for the patient's/customer's rights needs, and confidentiality.Demonstrates effective communication and human relations skills, which promote harmony and teamwork.Presents behaviors and actions that maintain the hospital's credibility, integrity, and positive image.Demonstrates behaviors and actions that support the mission, goals, and operations of the hospital and which contribute to continuous service improvement.Other ResponsibilitiesAssists with special projects as assigned.Accurately interprets and communicates Human Resources Policies and Procedures.Exhibits flexibility, adapting readily to changes in the work environment or work schedule.Maintains a positive attitude, even during periods of stress.Assumes responsibility for professional growth and development.Complies and adheres to all CSV policies.Maintains positive attendance and communicates in advance any absence from work.Adheres to all patient and environmental safety policies and procedures.Requirements:EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from accredited radiologic technology program.Certification/LicensesARRT or Board eligible, New Mexico State licensure required. BLS certification required. For recent graduates, BLS certification required within six months of hire. ACLS obtained within the first year.SkillsThorough knowledge of associated radiographic equipment, neurologic and cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, radiographic positioning, medical terminology and basic computer skills.Thorough knowledge of interventional procedures in Cardiology and Radiology preferred.Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.ExperienceA graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program. xibtplm One year radiologic experience preferred.Work Schedule:MULTIPLE SHIFTS AVAILABLEWork Type:Full Time
