Architectural Code Consultant

Job Summary We are a boutique architectural design team seeking an experienced architect or building code professional to perform independent code reviews for our projects on a contract (1099) basis. Our work consists primarily of residential homes, additions, renovations, and small commercial projects. This is not a full-time position and is ideal for a retired architect, former building official, or experienced design professional looking for flexible, supplemental income. Responsibilities: Review permit sets and identify potential code issues before permit submission. Provide clear, practical feedback and recommendations. Qualifications: Strong knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC), International Residential Code (IRC), and related accessibility and life safety requirements. Architectural license(active or inactive) or extensive code review experience preferred. Experience with residential and small commercial projects.
