Housekeeper
Rock River Nursing & Rehab - The Housekeeper / Maintenance Assistant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This role supports both daily housekeeping tasks and basic maintenance functions throughout the facility. The position requires strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work effectively in a healthcare setting.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesHousekeeping ResponsibilitiesPerform daily cleaning of resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, nursing stations, dining areas, and offices.Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect assigned areas according to infection control and facility standards.Remove trash and replace liners in resident rooms and facility areas.Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces to reduce the risk of infection.Restock housekeeping carts and supply closets with necessary materials.Assist with laundry duties as needed.Report any unsafe conditions or needed repairs observed during cleaning rounds.Maintenance Assistant ResponsibilitiesAssist the Maintenance Director with routine building inspections and preventative maintenance rounds.Complete minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, patching walls, and basic plumbing tasks.Help set up rooms or common areas for events, meetings, and activities.Assist with groundskeeping tasks such as snow removal, sidewalk clearing, sweeping, and basic landscaping.Support emergency maintenance tasks (e.g., water leaks, equipment issues) as directed.Maintain tools and supplies in good working order and follow all safety procedures.Document completed tasks and communicate any major repair needs to the Maintenance Director.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.Previous housekeeping or maintenance experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting preferred.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.Basic knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment, and repair techniques is a plus.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand/walk for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.
