Assistant SuperintendentJob Purpose ParagraphThis position supports the Superintendent in managing and coordinating daily field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with plans and specifications. The Assistant Superintendent plays a key role in workforce coordination, material delivery planning, quality control, and jobsite communication. This role requires the ability to interpret construction documents, support field execution, and collaborate with project teams to maintain project efficiency and organization.Field Coordination & ExecutionAssist the Superintendent in planning and maintaining the project schedule, including coordination of manpower and material deliveriesInterpret construction documents, drawings, and specifications to support field operationsParticipate in project layout, field engineering, and verification of installed workMonitor subcontractor activities to ensure alignment with project plans and scheduleIdentify and help resolve field issues, escalating as neededSubcontractor & Workforce ManagementSupport management and coordination of subcontractors and field workforcePromote accountability and productivity among trade partnersAssist in maintaining jobsite organization and workflow efficiencyCollaborate with Project Engineers and field staff to ensure proper document flow and executionSafety & Quality ControlMonitor and enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policiesPromote and maintain a strong safety culture on the jobsiteInspect work in place to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and quality standardsIdentify unacceptable work and assist in corrective actionScheduling & ReportingAssist in the development and maintenance of project schedules for assigned scopes of workTrack daily progress and maintain accurate daily reports, including manpower, activities, and issuesSupport schedule adherence and communicate delays or risks to the SuperintendentDocumentation & Project SupportAssist with RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and record drawings in coordination with Project EngineersUtilize construction technology such as Bluebeam for document review and coordinationSupport Lean Construction practices and continuous improvement initiativesMaintain clear communication with all members of the project teamTechnical Skills RequirementsOSHA 30 CertificationProcore Knowledge and ExperienceRead and Interpret Plans and SpecsBluebeam ExperienceMicrosoft Office Suite EfficiencyComputer knowledge and EfficiencyQualifications2–5 years of relevant commercial construction experienceBachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred, but not requiredEquivalent field experience (e.g., Foreman, Field Engineer) will be consideredInternship experience with a commercial contractor preferredAbility to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsAbility to remain calm, focused, and effective under pressureSelf-starter with strong work ethic and leadership potentialStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityTeam-oriented with the ability to collaborate across field and office teams3i offers competitive compensation and benefits packages. 3i stands for Integrity, Innovation and Information.
