Orthopedic Billing Manager

Job Description We are seeking an experienced Orthopedic Billing Manager to oversee and optimize all aspects of orthopedic professional billing operations. This individual will manage revenue cycle workflows, payer relations, claims resolution, coding compliance, denial management, and team performance to ensure accurate reimbursement and operational efficiency.The ideal candidate has strong orthopedic and surgical billing experience, understands complex payer requirements, and can lead a high-performing billing department in a fast-paced healthcare environment.Key ResponsibilitiesManage daily orthopedic billing and revenue cycle operations for professional servicesOversee claim submission, payment posting, denial management, appeals, and accounts receivable follow-upEnsure accurate coding and billing for orthopedic procedures, surgical cases, injections, imaging, DME, and related servicesMonitor payer reimbursement trends and identify underpayments or billing discrepanciesWork collaboratively with providers, surgery centers, coders, credentialing, and finance teamsDevelop and implement billing policies, workflows, and performance metricsSupervise billing staff, provide training, and maintain accountability standardsEnsure compliance with Medicare, commercial payer, and regulatory billing requirementsAnalyze revenue cycle KPIs including aging, collections, denial rates, and reimbursement performanceAssist with contract implementation, payer escalations, and operational growth initiativesMaintain strong understanding of orthopedic-specific coding, modifiers, and documentation requirementsQualificationsMinimum 3+ years of medical billing experience, preferably in orthopedics, surgery, or ASC billingPrevious management or supervisory experience preferredStrong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, modifiers, and orthopedic surgical billingExperience with commercial payers, Medicare, workers' compensation, and prior authorization workflowsUnderstanding of revenue cycle management and denial resolution strategiesStrong organizational, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentExperience with EMR and billing systems requiredPreferred ExperienceOrthopedic surgery groupHigh-volume procedural or surgical specialty billingMulti-state or multi-site healthcare operationsCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experienceHealth, dental, and vision benefitsPaid time off and holidaysCareer growth and leadership development opportunitiesScheduleFull-timeMonday–FridayIn-office or hybrid depending on experience and location
