In this important role, you will play a key part in transforming spaces with top-quality painting, drywall finishing, or wall covering work. Working with various tools in different environments, safety is a top priority. Reliability, dexterity, and a commitment to excellence are essential for delivering exceptional work. Responsibilities Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures, etc. Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint, etc. Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g., plaster) Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools Apply varnish and other finishes Hang wallpaper and install wall coverings with precision Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions Skills Proven experience as a painter, drywall finisher, or wallpaper specialist is a plus but not required Excellent knowledge of painting, drywall finishing, and wall covering materials and how to select, mix, and apply them Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painter, drywall finisher, and wall covering techniques Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns, etc.) Good basic math skills Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders, etc. Conscientious with great attention to detail Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.00 - $48.00 per hour Benefits: Dental insurance Health insurance Professional development assistance Retirement plan Vision insurance People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply Work Location: In person
