Job Title: Intermediate Elementary Teacher (Grades 3-6)Job SummaryThe Intermediate Elementary Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, standards-based instruction to students in grades 3-5. This role focuses on developing students' academic skills, critical thinking, and social-emotional growth in a supportive classroom environment.Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction & CurriculumPlan and deliver lessons aligned with state standards in core subjects (Math, English Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies)Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needsIntegrate technology and hands-on activities to enhance learningDifferentiate instruction for students with varying abilitiesAssessment & Progress MonitoringAssess student learning through formative and summative assessmentsAnalyze data to guide instruction and improve student outcomesProvide timely and constructive feedback to students and parentsMaintain accurate records of student performanceClassroom ManagementEstablish and maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environmentImplement effective behavior management strategiesPromote respect, responsibility, and collaboration among studentsStudent DevelopmentSupport students' social-emotional developmentEncourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and independenceRecognize and respond to individual student needsCollaboration & CommunicationCommunicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progressCollaborate with colleagues, specialists, and administrationParticipate in staff meetings, professional development, and school eventsQualificationsEducation & CertificationBachelor's degree in Elementary EducationValid state teaching license/certification for elementary educationExperience2-5 years of teaching experience preferredExperience teaching intermediate elementary grades (3-6) is a plusSkills & CompetenciesStrong classroom management and organizational skillsEffective communication and interpersonal abilitiesAbility to differentiate instruction and support diverse learnersProficiency with educational technology toolsCommitment to continuous professional growthWork EnvironmentClassroom-based setting in an elementary schoolMay include supervision duties (recess, lunch, arrival/dismissal)Regular school hours with occasional after-school meetings or eventsPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periodsOccasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)Active engagement with students throughout the dayAdditional DutiesPerforms other related tasks as assigned by the Principal.Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities.
