Jr Claims Representative
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:Track Workers’ Compensation claims, including each Claimant’s C-2 Form; report to the Safety Department for investigation and OSHA log input; create and maintain claim files in the appropriate categoryCoordinate property, fire, flood, and motor vehicle damage claims; review damage forms and photos; establish files; coordinate with claimants, insurance carriers, and internal staff; and obtain signed indemnification agreements prior to inspectionsCoordinate repairs of damaged and affected units with internal departments to ensure timelines are aligned; obtain insurance information and pursue subrogation when applicableAssist with insurance policy submission packages and support meetings with brokers and underwriters for renewalsFollow up with the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) to obtain Fire Marshal and incident reports, as neededMaintain the Driver’s License & DMV “LENS” Notification Program, including monitoring license status changes, updating records, and maintaining the Corporate Driver License databaseAssist with organization and preparation for Accident Review Committee hearingsAssist with preparation of the two-year insurance budgetOther duties and responsibilities, as assigned.Educational Requirements:HS diploma or equivalent required.Degree is a plusWork Experience and Minimum Requirements:Two to four (2–4) years of Workers’ Compensation claims experienceTraining and experience equivalent to 3 years of property and third-party (General Liability) claimsCandidate must be detail orientedMust possess effective written/oral communication and interpersonal skillsWorking knowledge in Microsoft Office that includes MS Word, Excel, & OutlookCandidate should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe productsValid NY, NJ, CT or PA Driver’s license is requiredMust be able to work flexible hours, as neededKnowledge of insurance policy preparation for renewals is a plusFamiliarity with the Yardi program is a plusBi-Lingual is a plusTesting:Drug screening to the extent permitted by applicable law.Physical Requirements:Persons performing service in this position classification may routinely exert up to 25 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This type of work will involve regular walking or standing for extended periods of time. It may involve stooping or bending.
