Part-Time, One-day per weekResponsibilities:Complete Owner Site Safety OrientationBe familiar with Owners Safety SOP and Plan, including site evacuation planBe familiar with the Contractor’s Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP)Review of Contractors’ Safety Documents (and request revisions when applicable), including: Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) Environment Health and Safety Plans (EHASP) Incident ReportsAbility/confidence to recommend Site Engineering staff implement Stop Work Authority when existing safety concerns are deemed immediately dangerous to life and healthIdentification and evaluation of anticipated safety hazardsGenerate and provide EHASPs to Engineering staffCoordinate safety activities with Owner staffDaily monitoring, weekly meeting, and monthly reportingNotify Engineer of incidents and near missesWalk site with Contractor’s safety representative occasionallyReview/Comment/Approve Contractors Monthly Health and Safety Report, which includes: Monthly Health and Safety Plan Injury and accident reports Monthly Implementation of Health and Safety Programs Monthly Site Housekeeping Program Temporary Environmental ControlsObserve Contractor’s excavation, trenching and shoring activities for safety monitoringObserve Contractor personnel for proper PPEObserve Contractor’s fall protection plan in practiceDrop ins on Contractor Site Safety MeetingsObserve/verify LOTO procedures are performed/followed by ContractorAssist with verification and compliance with Envision Documentation Section QL 1.3 Improve Construction SafetyObserve temporary traffic controls and pedestrian traffic controlsObserve Contractor’s temporary facilities (i.e. trailers and loading areas) for compliance with safety standards, including postings and benefit of occupancy inspection certificateMonitor presence of MSDS at site for conformance with specifications and regulationsMonitor heavy equipment operation for safety, including spotter usageObserve Contractor’s Safety practices to ensure adequate protection is provided for persons and property
