The COO division is responsible for building and maintaining cutting-edge experiences that reach millions of customers every month.As a member of the COO architecture team, you will drive innovation and continually improve cloud-native experiences for both internal and external customers. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely, assuming you can accommodate North American time zones for your regular working hours.ResponsibilitiesLead technical discussions across diverse teams in a matrix settingMentor developers on emerging and existing technologies, as well as career development pathsEvaluate the feasibility of alternative directions in future architecture/platform development through modeling and prototypingEnsure selected architecture achieve desired quality attributes such as security, scalability, and resilienceInfluence the design, architecture, and implementation of cloud-native experiences (frontend and backend)Design and implement high-quality code for complex areasCollaborate closely with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to translate business needs, system architecture, and product requirements into well-designed and implemented softwareEvangelize and distribute technical informationPresent to and gain insights and feedback from Autodesk management on key architectural initiativesContribute to both near and long-term technology roadmapsChampion industry best practicesServe as a subject matter expert in both established and emerging cloud-native technologies, including Material UI, React, Redux, Web Components, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and AWS-based server-side infrastructureMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science or related engineering discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered10+ years of experience as a software engineer or architect, with a strong focus on cloud technologiesExceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectivelyStrong leadership skills, with experience in guiding and mentoring diverse teamsDemonstrated success in leading the architecture for commercial software systems that are globally deployed at scaleHigh levels of ownership and a collaborative spirit, working seamlessly to consistently deliver high-quality resultsExtensive knowledge of cloud-native development tools, languages, and frameworks, along with an understanding of their appropriate applicationWorking knowledge of LLMs and machine learning, with an understanding of key concepts and hands-on experience using machine learning tools in a development environmentBroad knowledge across many areas of software development and architecture with deep expertise in one or two key domains.BenefitsFrom health and financial benefits to time away and everyday wellness, we give Autodeskers the best so they can do their best work. For U.S. based roles, the starting base salary is expected to be between $143,000 and $256,520. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
