We are partnering with a well-established organization to identify an experienced Senior Accountant with nonprofit experience, who enjoys owning core accounting functions and playing an active role in month-end close and financial reporting. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with finance leadership. This is a contract position, looking to have someone start as soon as possible!What This Role Will Do* Own key general ledger activities, including preparing and posting journal entries and performing in-depth balance sheet reconciliations* Play a critical role in month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness* Maintain fixed asset schedules and handle depreciation accounting* Complete monthly bank reconciliations and manage cash-related accounting activity* Support accounts payable functions, including vendor payment recording and review* Review employee expense reports for accuracy and policy compliance* Assist with internal and external audit requests and prepare supporting schedules* Help maintain data integrity across financial systems and support ongoing process improvements* Partner with the Controller and finance team on additional accounting and reporting initiativesWhat They're Looking For* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field* At least 3 years of progressive accounting experience* Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and GAAP* Proven experience handling month-end close* Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas and data analysis* Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to explain financial data clearly* Comfortable working independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams* High level of professionalism and discretion with confidential financial informationPay Details: $30.00 to $40.00 per hourSearch managed by: Samantha GarmanBenefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
