Network Architect with Security Clearance
Overview We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to support a mission-critical defense program focused on submarine command, control, communications, computers, cyber-defense, and intelligence (C5I). This role supports Systems Engineering and Intelligence efforts within a highly secure environment. This position is based onsite in Manassas, VA and follows a standard 9/80 or 4/10 work schedule. Key Responsibilities * Support network integration across a variety of protocol standards * Analyze and troubleshoot network configurations, including: * VLANs and spanning tree * Static and dynamic routing protocols * Access Control Lists (ACLs) * IP addressing and subnetting * Utilize packet analysis tools such as Wireshark or similar tools * Diagnose and resolve network performance issues in complex environments * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system integration Required Qualifications * Active DoD Secret Clearance (must be maintained) * U.S. Citizenship (required for clearance eligibility) * Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience * 3+ years of relevant professional experience * Strong verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications * Experience with network protocols and technologies such as: * TCP/IP, HSRP/VRRP, RIP, OSPF, BGP * RSTP (802.1w), MSTP (802.1s), DHCP * VLAN tagging (802.1q), multicast * EtherChannel (PAgP/LACP), QoS * Active-active technologies (vPC, IRF) * Experience designing and implementing complex or high-performance computing networks * Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills * Familiarity with network hardware vendors such as Cisco and Arista * Knowledge of high-speed networking (1/10/25/40/100 Gig), optical standards, and satellite/serial links * Experience with Linux operating systems, SNMP, Python, or Bash scripting * Understanding of TCP/UDP packet structures * Exposure to Software-Defined Networking (SDN), including OVS * Familiarity with Kubernetes and VxLAN Kavaliro provides Equal Employment Opportunities to all employees and applicants.
