Ports and Marine Civil/Structural Lead Engineer/Project Manager

This OpportunityWSP is initiating a search for a Ports and Marine Senior Lead Engineer/Project Manager with the potential to work out of Raleigh-NC, Miami+Tampa-FL, Houston-TX, San Diego+Irvine, CA.For over 40-years WSP has been a leader in waterfront structural design in the Puget Sound, for the U.S. Navy, and worldwide. You would be joining the largest and best waterfront/marine design group in the country. The projects are diverse in nature, interesting, and challenging.Be involved in projects with our Ports and Maritime Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges. Our Maritime group comprises of highly motivated analysts, planners, and civil/structural engineers working in several key locations across the US and internationally. Major clients are port authorities, U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, terminal operators, contractors and private entities. Our strength is derived from the diversity of our marine-related work and our staff.Your ImpactIndependently perform and supervise structural analysis and design for marine and upland componentsIndependently perform and supervise berthing and mooring analysesLead development of plans, specifications, schedules and cost estimates for variety of port and Navy projectsUnderstand maritime codes and references including UFC, PIANC, ASCE-61Independently prepare basis of design, design calculations, technical reports, alternatives analysis, and study reportsUnderstand interdisciplinary requirements for port projects and be capable of performing QA/QC reviewsAttend client meetings and perform site visitsMentor developing port and maritime engineersExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.Who You AreRequired QualificationsMinimum 10 years of experience in analysis and design of port structuresProfessional Engineer LicensesBachelors in Civil/Structural Engineering.Excellent written and oral communication skillsProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policiesPreferred QualificationsMasters Degree in Civil/Structural EngineeringPrevious experience in analyses and design of medium to large scale ports/maritime/Navy structures and preparation of plans, specifications, and estimatesNational professional practice organization involvementHands-on analyses and design experience (SAP2000, OPTIMOOR, L-PILE, SLIDE)#LI-AC1
