Mechanical Project Engineer

Title: Mechanical Project Engineer60 G&G Technologies designs and manufactures custom process equipment for the life sciences industries. We are seeking a hands-on Project Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys seeing projects through from concept to completion. Requirements: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical, or Industrial and systems engineering(significant relevant experience may be considered as an alternative). 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or equipment fabrication environment, working with sheet metal, frame weldments, and machined components. Proficiency in SolidWorks for component and assembly modeling and for producing fabrication drawings (experience with CAM programming is a plus). Strong communication and organizational skills with demonstrated experience in client-facing project management and technical documentation. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel. Familiarity with electrical and piping & instrumentation (P&ID) schematics a plus. Experience with sensors, PLC systems, or process instrumentation preferred but not required. Experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or food equipment manufacturing strongly preferred. Experience developing or executing testing protocols a plus. Job Summary: The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing projects from concept through production, supporting both pre- and post-sales activities. This includes cost estimating, proposal writing, and general arrangement (GA) drawings during the quoting phase, followed by detailed engineering and fabrication support through project completion. Key responsibilities include: Developing bills of materials (BOMs), fabrication, and assembly drawings. Collaborating with the internal fabrication team to ensure designs meet performance, quality, and manufacturability standards. Coordinating with vendors and subcontractors to obtain quotations and oversee outsourced fabrication. Managing multiple projects of varying complexity, ranging from individual components to integrated systems, depending on experience and workload.
