You will directly support Unreviewed Safety Question (USQ) efforts at TA-55, helping maintain compliance, mitigate risk, and enable mission-critical work in a fast-paced nuclear environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and perform hazard and risk analyses for nuclear and non-nuclear facilitiesDevelop and maintain safety basis documentation (DSA, TSRs, safety assessments)Perform USQ determinations and support ongoing facility compliance effortsConduct hazard identification, accident analysis, and control selectionCollaborate with engineering, operations, and safety teams to ensure regulatory complianceSupport increased operational tempo and evolving mission requirementsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or ScienceMinimum 12+ years of relevant safety basis or nuclear analysis experienceStrong experience with:USQ process and safety basis documentationNuclear facility hazard analysisDOE/NNSA regulatory environmentAbility to pass Safety Basis Qualification Review BoardPreferred QualificationsActive DOE Q ClearancePrior experience at LANL or TA-55Background supporting Hazard Category nuclear facilitiesAbility to quickly qualify and operate independently in a high-demand environmentWork Environment & Additional DetailsHybrid role with required onsite presence in Los AlamosMust be flexible to support weekend work as neededPer diem / relocation support availableHigh-priority role supporting increased workload at TA-55Why This RoleThis is a high-visibility, mission-critical position supporting one of the most important nuclear operations in the country.
