The Reactor Operator is required to work with others to produce a quality product in a safe manner.Principal Accountabilities:Complies with all rules, policies and procedures.Assists in making spreads, pulling/pushing buns.Conducts and logs daily inspections of work areas and equipment.Performs minor maintenance.Assists in cleanup of plant during downtime.Be familiar with Solimide Foams' Loss Control PoliciesComplete Reactor Operator Task listComplete Reactor Operator Daily ChecklistComplete Forklift inspection and operate safely.Run assorted quality tests in lab.Makes resin batches.Moves raw materials from the warehouse to the production area.Loads, unloads and moves hazardous and non-hazardous waste and raw materials.Compact scrap foam.Write work orders.Performs other duties as assigned by the Crew Leader.Regular attendance is required.Ability to work in extreme and varying temperature and weather conditions is required.Participate in the Site 5S programAttend all required safety meetingsFrequency:Daily% of time spent on each major activity:5Strategic Focus:The Reactor Operator is expected to complete batches in a timely and safe manner. The operator is also required to follow batch procedures to assure quality product.Nature & Scope:Qualifications:- High School education or equivalent- WAGE Certificate preferred for employees hired on or after January 1, 2004- One-year experience in production type environment and an understanding of plant operations.- Operate a computer- Relates and interacts well with people at all levels in the company.- Requires walking, standing, use of hands and reaching for up to 12 hours per day.- Must be able to pull, push and lift weights up to 100 lbs.- Requires some manual dexterity with body flexibility. Requires normal vision and hearing.- Must be able to operate all types of basic factory & maintenance equipment.- Must be able to operate a fork truck and various saws.- Use of Windows based computer systems- Must be able to wear and function with all required PPE.- Pay attention to details.- Good communication skills.Contacts:Internal: Reports to the Production Crew Leader and interacts daily with the Powder Operator, Saw Operator, QC Laboratory Technicians, Shipping and Maintenance personnel. Occasionally, will interact with the Operation Manager, Production Manager and other Office personnel.Work Flow:Work flows to the Reactor Operator via communication from the Production Crew Leader, Production Manager, and Operation Manager.
