Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse RNFA assists the surgeon during surgical procedures, providing support, exposure, hemostasis, and wound closure. They work closely with the surgical team to ensure the best possible outcome for the patient.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist the surgeon in the operating room during surgical procedures.
2. Provide support and assistance as needed during surgery.
3. Ensure proper patient positioning and prepare the surgical site.
4. Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols.
5. Assist with instrument and supply counts before and after surgery.
6. Provide post-operative care and monitor the patient's condition.
7. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
8. Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice.
2. Certification as a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA).
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in perioperative nursing.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
6. Knowledge of surgical procedures and techniques.
7. Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills.
8. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
