This position requires a deep understanding of healthcare compliance, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to maintain the highest standards of ethical and legal conduct.Legal Research & WritingActively assists in legal matters including but not limited to subpoenas, demand letters, and medical records requestsTakes lead on all adverse incidents and/or unanticipated eventsActs as a liaison between the legal department and attorneys to research, identify, and provide all information or document requests from attorneys relating to legal mattersWorks alongside the legal departmentConducts research and interprets statutes/regulations that require compliance across assigned clinicsMonitors changes in healthcare laws and regulations, guiding the organization to stay currentCollaborates with cross-functional teams, and legal, to address compliance issues and develop solutionsRisk & ComplianceConducts regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance issuesDevelops and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks and strengthen the organization's compliance postureWorks alongside VP, Growth & Operations to create new policies and/or SOP'sPrepares for AAAASF inspections and accreditations of new and/or existing clinicsActively performs in AAAASF and state surveys as a company representativeOrganizes and keeps compliance manuals current for assigned clinics in alignment with state and AAAASF requirements to include but not limited to bibles, QA/QI, CEUOversees platforms such as SurgLogs and ScriptureDrives education and achievement of clinic department goals, objectives, and processes to include but not limited to training of tenured staff and new staffCoordinates and conducts regular training sessions on compliance for employees at all levelsCollaborates with appropriate departments to ensure compliance is met at all times by established policies and proceduresAnalysis & ReportingProactively escalates to the Director of Operations and/or VP, Growth & Operations any perceived obstacles, barriers, problems, or unusual circumstances for compliance measures and outcomesPrepares and submits timely reports on compliance activities, incidents, and corrective actions to senior managementRequirementsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's Degree2-5 years of Previous experience in healthcare, compliance or legal research is preferredPreferred experience with AHCA, JCAHO, JCO, AAAHC, QUADA, OBS, and/or ASCStrong understanding of healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA, and othersExcellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholdersStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsPhysical RequirementsMust be able to lift up to 10-20 pounds at timesTravel RequirementsUp to 50% required to travel between out-of-state clinicsMia Aesthetics is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
