Our precision components support the International Space Station, nearly every major launch vehicle in operation, high-performance spacecraft (including classified missions), as well as next-generation fighter aircraft, bombers, submarines, radar systems, and ground vehicles.The position of Senior Accountant will work closely with the Controller, Finance Team, and Operations to reconcile accounts, assist in the month end close process, assist in preparation of monthly financial statements, maintain controls and improve cost tracking across the organization to support the greater business and stakeholders. Experience streamlining accounting processes and having an investigative mindset will be critical to being successful in this role.Qualifications and SkillsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related fieldExperience in project-based manufacturing; ideally in aerospace, defense or other government contracting environments5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experienceExperience with GAAP financialsExperience with job costing and percent complete revenue recognition.Skilled in ERP systems and financial tools; intermediate to advanced Excel proficiencyProven ability to manage competing prioritiesExcellent written, verbal, and presentation skillsHolds an ability to be involved and curious by spending time on the shop floor to understand the business in greater detail; seeks to make improvements and strengthen partnerships through relationships and comprehensionThorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.Familiarity with financial accounting statements.Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/ year-end close process.Skilled in ERP systems and financial tools; advanced Excel proficiency.Experience working with large volumes of data and close attention to detail required.Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.Must be well-versed in understanding core business needs and prioritizing conflicting demands while driving financial processes for business optimization.Ability to recognize leadership across the organization and provide mentorship for professional growth.Self-starter with the ability to pivot and successfully adapt in a constantly changing environment.Ability to work under pressure within a complex, high growth organization.Ability to be involved and curious by spending time on the shop floor to understand the business in greater detail; seeks to make improvements and strengthen partnerships through relationships and comprehension.Personal AttributesAble to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary teams.Flexible and adaptable in regard to learning and understanding new technologies.Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.Highly self-motivated and directed.Keen attention to detail.Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.Work Conditions40-hour onsite work weekHours outside of a normal working day may be required to meet project deadlines or respond to system incidents.Ability to work occasionally in manufacturing shop floor conditions.Additional RequirementsThis position requires the use of information or access to hardware subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
