Job Description:
This part time position will work in collaboration with SOE leadership, advise students in all academic programs including (but not exclusive to) educator preparation. Manage daily inquiries supportive of student success with an emphasis on responsiveness, persistence, and timely completion. Maintain ongoing, timely, and equitable communication with students across programs. Respond to inquiries within 48 hours (excluding weekends). Refer students to appropriate personnel as needed and campus resources for academic support.
Ensure effective enrollment management practices. In consultation with academic leaders, participate in campus orientation sessions for prospective students and follow-up on inquiries from Admissions each term to ensure appropriate program selection and timely entry. Onboard new students each term and provide academic counseling to continuing students for effective management of academic trajectory, including course registration in compliance with AIC policies and SOE procedures. Timely prepare and disseminate reports to academic leaders on number of students admitted, continuing, and graduating each term by program for decision-making and tracking purposes
Manage student records within the SOE, including databases and files required for effective decision-making and continuous improvement for all SOE academic programs. Prepare and timely submit reports on degree candidates anticipated to enter and enrolled in SOE capstone courses each term (e.g., Practicum in educator preparation, Field Based Research for degree-only/non-licensure programs, and Dissertation-related courses for the EdD). Submit annual report to academic leaders for review/data analysis for continuous improvement and accreditation purposes.

Requirements:
Bachelors required, Masters preferred
Experience in Education, Counseling and/or Student Affairs
Prior experience with effective academic coaching, counseling, and student advising. Interest in active, collaborative learning; enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Canvas, and student-related databases
Knowledge of educator preparation and academic programs unique to schools/colleges of education in higher education.
Create a welcoming environment that employs best practices in customer service supportive of student success. Strong commitment to student success within a diverse, learner-centered environment with the ability to work with students at multiple levels from diverse backgrounds. Ability to foster a collaborative atmosphere among students with expertise that complements/expands student services.

Please note that this is a part-time role with the incumbent expected to work approximately 20 hours per week dependent on the needs of the department.
