Dispatch Supervisor – Direct HirePosition SummaryThe Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for delivering excellent customer service while coordinating daily dispatch operations. This role serves as the primary link between customers and drivers, ensuring efficient scheduling, clear communication, and smooth execution of port pickups, customer deliveries, and empty returns.Key ResponsibilitiesSchedule and manage port pickups, customer deliveries, and empty container returns within free-time constraintsAct as a primary point of contact for customers and drivers via phone, email, and in personRespond promptly and professionally to all inquiries, maintaining strong email communication and inbox organizationMaintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactionsFollow up on customer and driver communications to ensure resolution and satisfactionCommunicate clearly and effectively with internal teams and external partnersAdapt to last-minute operational changes and shifting prioritiesIdentify and suggest operational improvements to enhance efficiency and servicePerform other related duties as assignedQualifications1–5 years of dispatch or port operations experience at the Port of Houston, TX (entry-level candidates with strong potential are encouraged to apply)Experience with brokerage or freight forwarding companies is not preferredKnowledge of Profit Tools is a plusKey Competencies & SkillsStrong interpersonal and listening skillsHigh stress tolerance and the ability to remain calm under pressureProactive, self-motivated, and takes initiativeStrong problem analysis and problem-solving abilitiesProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookAdaptable and responsive to changing situations and informationExceptional written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently, multitask, and prioritize effectivelyDetail-oriented with strong follow-throughPatient, resilient, and comfortable communicating with multiple drivers dailyPositive attitude and professional demeanorJ-18808-Ljbffr
