Location: Leesburg, VAEmployment Type: Full-Time | Direct HireCompensationProject Lead I: Starting at $95,000+ annually (based on experience) Project Lead II: Starting at $110,000+ annually (based on experience) Position OverviewA growing construction and project delivery environment is seeking Construction Project Leads at both intermediate and senior levels to oversee a variety of commercial, institutional, infrastructure, and public-sector construction projects.These roles involve managing projects through all stages of execution, including estimating, planning, procurement, scheduling, construction oversight, and project closeout. Project types may include renovations, infrastructure improvements, IDIQ contracts, negotiated work, design/build delivery, and fast-paced construction schedules.Position LevelsProject Lead IThis level is best suited for professionals managing smaller-scale or moderately complex projects while coordinating daily project execution and supporting overall delivery objectives.Typical Experience Profile:4-7 years of construction project management experience with a degreeor10+ years of related construction experience without a degree Experience coordinating subcontractors and/or self-performed work Exposure to government-related projects is beneficial Project Lead IIThis level is intended for professionals overseeing larger or more technically complex projects with increased responsibility for financial management, strategic coordination, and client communication.Typical Experience Profile:7-10 years of project management experience with a degreeor15+ years of relevant industry experience without a degree Experience with design/build delivery methods, value engineering, and advanced project controls Familiarity with negotiated contracts or government construction environments preferred Key ResponsibilitiesManage projects through all phases, including estimating, planning, execution, turnover, and closeoutCoordinate subcontractor procurement, buyout activities, and contract administrationDevelop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling platformsMonitor schedule performance and address delays, sequencing issues, or critical path impactsPrepare estimates, pricing revisions, change orders, and cost evaluationsConduct job site visits to review project safety, construction quality, and progressCoordinate activities between field teams, subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and project stakeholdersEnsure compliance with inspections, permitting requirements, and applicable regulationsLead project meetings and maintain organized project documentation and reportingOversee project financials, including billing, forecasting, cost tracking, and vendor paymentsIdentify constructability concerns and contribute to value engineering solutionsEnsure compliance with contract requirements, safety expectations, and quality standardsSupport environmental, safety, and quality control initiativesMentor junior staff members and support team development efforts when applicableParticipate in professional networking and ongoing career development activitiesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferredEquivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal educationStrong understanding of commercial construction operations and project execution practicesExperience with scheduling, estimating, subcontract administration, and cost managementAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documentsProficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management softwareStrong communication, organizational, and leadership capabilitiesValid driver’s license with a clean driving historyAbility to work on active construction sites, including climbing, walking uneven terrain, and lifting up to 50 lbsPreferred Experience & CertificationsExperience supporting government or public-sector construction projectsFamiliarity with IDIQ, JOC, design/build, and fast-track project delivery methodsExperience with line-item estimatingOSHA 30 certificationFirst Aid and CPR certificationsUSACE/NAVFAC CQC certification preferredProfessional credentials such as AC, CPC, or PE are highly valuedIdeal Candidate ProfileWe are seeking construction professionals who are proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing multiple priorities within dynamic project environments.
