Discover a more connected careerAt Star, a Supervisor Telecom Construction Underground will be responsible for managing underground telecommunication construction crews; responsible for ensuring that the installation, maintenance, and/or repair for our customer is completed safely, timely, and accurately. This position requires a good working knowledge of telecommunications construction and supervising people familiarity with the equipment used to complete work and the ability to identify and solve problems. This position requires significant travel throughout the state of Kentucky to complete long haul construction projectsConnecting You To Great BenefitsWeekly PaychecksPaid Time Off, Parental Leave, and HolidaysInsurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance)401(k) w/ Company MatchStock Purchase PlanEducation ReimbursementLegal InsuranceDiscounts on gym memberships, pet insurance, and much more!What You’ll DoOversees and leads crews to complete installation, maintenance, and/or repair of telecommunications equipment and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and safety in the completion of daily production goalsSupervises day to day activities and progress, establish guidance on execution and ensure compliance with predetermined deliverablesCoordinates with manager to invoice jobs in a timely mannerEnsures all safety policies, OSHA, DOT and special requiremetns of a project are in compliance with each crew assignmentAll accident investigations, including job damage, employee injury and vehicle accidents will be responsibility of the SupervisorResponsbility for professional communication with employees, contractors, vendors, and/or customers to assist in an assigned area, department or projectIdentifies and course corrects issues and risks, and assist in the development of response plans to resolveAssures compliance with all company safey policiesResponsible for staffing, training and performance managing employees with help of Human ResourcesManages equipment repair, maintenance and rental with help of Fleet departmentInterfaces with customers frequently to discuss needs and goalsIND1What You’ll NeedTo be 18 years of age or olderAuthorization to work in the United States for this companyMust be able to pass a background check and company drug screeningValid State driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving recordAdditional qualifcationsMinimum Education/Experience RequirementsExperience working in telecommunications or utility constructionProvenn leadership experience guiding employees to product high quality results and teamworkAny combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates ability to perform the designated job duities and responsibillities of the positionReasoning AbillityAbility to make common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with and resolve problems with mutiple variables. Language SkillsAbility to read, undersand and interpret documents such as safety rules, machine manuals and process procedures.
