AI Engineer

Akkodis is seeking an AI Engineer for a Contract with a client in Urbana, MD. The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in Python-based AI development, prompt engineering, and Azure AI services while optimizing model performance and data pipelines.Rate Range: $37/hour to $53/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.AI Engineer Job Responsibilities include:Design and develop LLM-based applications, RAG pipelines, and agentic AI workflows for enterprise use cases.Build and optimize data pipelines for structured and unstructured datasets to support AI model training and inference.Implement prompt engineering, memory architecture, and system instructions for accurate, domain-specific outputs.Evaluate and improve model performance, focusing on accuracy, latency, hallucination mitigation, and safety compliance.Deploy and operationalize AI solutions using Azure AI services with scalable and production-ready architectures.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI systems into business applications and workflows. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.6+ years overall experience with strong hands-on exposure to Generative AI and LLM-based systems.Proven expertise in Python-based AI development, including building and deploying LLM and RAG-based applications.Hands-on experience with Azure Data & AI services, along with strong skills in prompt engineering and AI solution deployment.
