Our teams are empowered to grow, contribute, and make a meaningful impact through the projects we deliver.About Your RoleCMTS is seeking a detail-oriented QA/QC Specialist - Design to support capital improvement projects for the Dallas Independent School District (DISD). This role focuses on ensuring design quality across all project phases by reviewing drawings, specifications, and coordination efforts to ensure consistency, completeness, and constructability. The QA/QC Specialist will work closely with design teams, project managers, and field personnel to identify and resolve design issues before construction.Education RequirementsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field requiredRequired Qualifications5-8 years of experience in construction, design coordination, or QA/QC support rolesExperience reviewing construction drawings and specificationsUnderstanding of construction processes and coordination between design and field executionStrong attention to detail with ability to identify inconsistencies in documentsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systemsStrong communication and organizational skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with K-12, higher education, or public-sector construction programsFamiliarity with Bluebeam, BIM coordination tools, or document review platformsExperience with PMIS platforms such as e-Builder, Procore, or PMWebKnowledge of building systems including MEP and building envelope componentsExposure to QA/QC programs and quality management systemsKey ResponsibilitiesSupport design quality reviews across schematic design, design development, and construction document phasesReview drawings and specifications for coordination, completeness, and compliance with program standardsIdentify design discrepancies, conflicts, and gaps impacting construction quality or performanceCoordinate with Quality Manager to track and resolve design review commentsVerify incorporation of QA/QC comments into updated drawing sets and specificationsMaintain QA/QC checklists, standards, and review protocolsSupport constructability reviews for feasibility, sequencing, and execution planningCoordinate between design and field teams to ensure alignment with design intentReview bid documents during procurement for clarity and completenessTrack recurring design issues and contribute to lessons learned and process improvementsMaintain organized QA/QC documentation, logs, and recordsParticipate in design coordination meetings and quality review sessionsWhat You Can Expect from CMTSOpportunity to support major K-12 capital improvement programsCollaborative and growth-focused team environmentCompetitive compensation and benefits packageCareer advancement and professional development opportunitiesSalary RangeDOEEqual Employment Opportunity
