Set-up Machinist
Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce precision parts and components. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, blueprint reading, and technical skills to ensure high-quality production standards. Duties
Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes using Fanuc controls and CAM programming software.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications to produce accurate parts.
Adjust machine parameters and tooling to optimize machining processes for quality and efficiency.
Conduct routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues related to electrical discharge machining, tooling, or machine operation.
Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools for assembly or repair tasks as needed.
Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve workflow and reduce waste.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment adhering to safety protocols and best practices in plastics injection molding or other manufacturing processes.
Experience
Proven experience with CNC programming and operation on CNC milling machines and CNC lathes.
Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar design tools.
Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing processes.
Experience working with precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
Knowledge of Fanuc controls or other CNC control systems is preferred.
