Quality Assurance & Compliance Officer

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Assurance & Compliance Officer to support our organization in maintaining high standards of documentation, regulatory compliance, and service quality. This role is responsible for reviewing clinical documentation, auditing client charts, and ensuring adherence to state and organizational requirements. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and knowledgeable in healthcare or behavioral health compliance standards. Scope of work Review and audit client charts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Virginia state regulations and organizational policies Monitor and evaluate progress notes for quality, timeliness, and adherence to documentation standards Identify documentation errors, inconsistencies, or compliance risks and provide corrective recommendations Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure proper documentation practices Track audit findings and prepare reports for leadership review Assist in developing and implementing quality assurance processes and compliance protocols Support staff training and education related to documentation standards and regulatory requirements Stay up to date with applicable state, federal, and payer regulations What we are looking for Previous experience in quality assurance, compliance, or medical record auditing (behavioral health experience preferred) Strong knowledge of documentation standards, including progress notes and client record requirements Familiarity with Virginia Medicaid and/or behavioral health regulations is highly preferred Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Social Work, or related field (preferred) What we offer Competitive salary, based on experience W-2 employee status Eligible for part-time benefits as applicable Work Schedule Part-time: 32 hours per week Hybrid work arrangement (combination of remote and in-office work in Virginia) Flexible scheduling within business hours, based on organizational needs How to Apply Please submit your resume along with a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience in quality assurance, compliance, and chart auditing.
