Family Practice - Without OB Physician
Description A healthcare organization located in Rutland is seeking a licensed Optometrist to join a patient-focused eye care team. This opportunity offers the ability to provide comprehensive vision care in a supportive clinical environment with modern diagnostic equipment and a collaborative healthcare team. Position Overview The Optometrist will provide comprehensive eye and vision care, including routine eye examinations, diagnosis and management of eye conditions, and prescribing corrective lenses. The position involves working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care and effective treatment outcomes. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and eye healthDiagnose and manage common eye conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and dry eyePrescribe corrective lenses, including eyeglasses and contact lensesDetect signs of systemic conditions that may affect eye healthEducate patients on vision care, treatment options, and preventive eye healthMaintain accurate and timely patient documentationCollaborate with healthcare providers and clinical staff to coordinate patient careStay current with advancements in optometric care and technology Community Overview Located in the scenic Green Mountains, Rutland offers a welcoming community with a high quality of life and abundant outdoor recreation. Requirements General Requirements Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry programLicensed or eligible for licensure to practice optometry in VermontStrong clinical and diagnostic skillsExcellent communication and patient care abilitiesAbility to work effectively in a team-oriented healthcare environmentCommitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care Preferred Qualifications Experience in clinical optometry practiceInterest in managing ocular disease and preventive eye careExperience with modern diagnostic equipment and electronic medical records
