Protect Our People.Pay: $36.00 – $42.00 per hourPosition Type: Full-Time, Non-ExemptLocation: San Marcos, Texas (Field-Based)Travel: Nationwide (project-based travel required)Reports To: Texas Field Health & Safety SpecialistThe RoleThe Field Safety Technician – Specialty Contracting supports and implements Tasman’s Health and Safety Program across specialty contracting projects. Based in San Marcos, TX, this role involves frequent travel to project sites nationwide, primarily supporting multi-family housing environments including demolition, abatement, renovation, roofing, siding, and HVAC work.This role partners closely with Project Managers and leadership to proactively plan projects, deliver safety training, conduct inspections, and ensure all required safety documentation and field verifications are in place. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, organized planner, and hands-on safety professional who thrives in dynamic field environments.What You’ll Be Doing Safety Planning & Project SupportAssist in planning projects from a health and safety perspectiveDevelop and support Health & Safety Plans (HASPs) and Safe Work PlansEvaluate hazards and perform Activity Hazard AnalysesField Oversight & InspectionsTravel to job sites to provide training, conduct inspections, and support field teamsReview Job Safety Analysis (JSA) forms dailyInspect safety equipment including PPE, fire extinguishers, and toolsAssist sites in assessing and procuring appropriate PPETraining & CommunicationDeliver safety training and coaching in both structured and fast-paced environmentsAnswer technical safety questions and provide real-time field guidanceReinforce safety expectations and promote a proactive safety cultureProblem Solving & Continuous ImprovementCollaborate with supervisors and crews to resolve field safety challengesIdentify opportunities to improve safety practices and engagementEnsure field compliance with company standards and regulatory requirementsWhat You Bring RequiredBilingual (English & Spanish — fluent in speaking, reading, and writing)5–7 years of field construction safety experience supporting multi-site operationsOSHA 30-hour certification (minimum)Strong understanding of specialty construction trades (demolition, abatement, roofing, siding, HVAC, etc.)Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and digital safety platformsAbility to create and manage safety documentation, plans, and reportsStrong communication, coaching, and training skillsCalm decision-making under pressure and during field incidentsStrong hazard recognition and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to plan and coordinate travel efficientlyValid driver’s license and authorization to work in the U.S.PreferredExperience with renovation hazardsMilitary base project experienceAbatement certifications (asbestos, lead, etc.)Work EnvironmentThis role operates in both field and office environments, with significant time spent on active project sites.Field ConditionsOutdoor and indoor construction environmentsExposure to varying weather conditions and job site hazardsUse of PPE and safety equipmentPhysical RequirementsStand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle equipmentOccasionally lift up to 25 poundsParticipation in background and drug screening, including random testingScheduleFull-timeMonday – Friday, typically 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.Schedule varies based on project requirements and travelWork AuthorizationMust be authorized to work in the United StatesMust possess a valid driver’s licenseBenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company match (up to 4%)Health Savings Account (HSA) & Flexible Spending Account (FSA)Paid time off (PTO)Paid sick timeCompany-sponsored paid holidaysTuition reimbursementSafety equipment providedEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Why Join Tasman?At Tasman Inc, we deliver environmental, construction, and consulting solutions with an unwavering commitment to safety, integrity, and excellence.
