Associate Control Engineer
Job Description

Our growth and success has opened the opportunity for an individual to function as the lead technical representative for these large-scale HVAC projects.This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys troubleshooting complex systems, takes initiative in the field, and has a strong interest in how mechanical systems, controls, and data interact to drive energy performance.Responsibilities:Perform pre-sale and post-award site assessments, including mechanical, operational, and control system evaluationsCollect and analyze system data to identify performance gaps, control issues, and optimization opportunitiesDevelop project implementation plans, scopes of work, and budgetary estimatesLead field startup and commissioning activities to ensure systems operate per design intent and specificationsTroubleshoot mechanical, controls, and instrumentation issues during commissioning and live operationProvide on-site and remote client training on system operation, maintenance, and diagnosticsSupport post-installation measurement, verification, and performance optimizationAct as a technical liaison between clients, internal engineering teams, and integration partnersRequired Qualifications:B.S. in Engineering or Associate degree in mechanical or electrical/electronic technology with 2 years related experienceExperience in one or more of the following areas: Industrial and/or commercial HVAC: central plants, mechanical systemsBuilding automation systems and controlsIndustrial control systems: building automation, PLC, VFDs, and instrumentationStrong troubleshooting mindset with the ability to diagnose issues across mechanical systems, controls, and sensorsProactive, self-directed approach to identifying and resolving problems in the fieldAbility to communicate technical material to a non-technical audienceAble to travel domestically up to 25-30% of the time (M-F only)Ideal Qualifications:Familiarity with: Allen-Bradley PLCsNiagara FrameworkField instrumentation and sensors (flow, pressure, temperature, power)Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)Understanding of motors and pumping systemsChiller plant hydronics knowledgetekWorx Culture & BenefitsOpportunities for personal and professional growthCompetitive salary and bonusesHealth insurance with employer-funded HSA accountEducation reimbursement401(k) matchSelf-managed vacation policyEmphasis on work/life balanceOpen and cooperative work environmentIfyou are a self-motivated, collaborative and goal oriented individual seeking a position that guarantees a direct business impact, we encourage you to submit your resume.Please note, a drug/alcohol screen, background check and psychological profile examination are required for any successful candidates.
