FRC Child and Family Advocate

POSITION TITLE: FRC Child and Family Advocate, Greene-Hills SUMMARY: FRC Child & Family Advocate will implement support services to school-age youth/families including working with students and parents. FRC Advocate completes tasks needed to ensure the successful delivery of services, such as organizing arts & crafts, fliers, bulletin boards, and updates on our FRC web and Facebook/Twitter pages. FRC Advocate offers support services in the before/after school program located at the school and outreach to working parents.Major ResponsibilitiesAssist with clerical needs of the Center (CAYEN data input/filing/flyers etc.)Play & Learn Group Support (i.e.: set up/art project preparation/snack/clean up)Provide outreach activities, support, and resource/referral services to working parents with children enrolled in the after-school program and for others as assignedProvide enrichment programming and support services to students enrolled in the after-school program. (Requires late afternoon working hours)Lead and/or assist with Positive Youth Development activities for school-age students/families including school-wide family engagement eventsProvide children's programming/care for children while parents attend FRC-sponsored events/programsParticipate on at least one community board/committeeEnsures working parents are aware of FRC program and services and links these parents to community resourcesIf Bilingual, assist with translation and support to non-English speaking familiesOther Responsibilities as required by the Site Coordinator, Development Director and/or Program Director located at their school siteQualification RequirementsHigh School Diploma is required. An Associates degree is preferred.Experience working directly with parents and school-age childrenA good understanding of economic and cultural diversity issues.Good writing and communications skills and the ability to accurately enter data into electronic software systems.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
