Position Type:Paraprofessional/ParaprofessionalDate Posted:1/20/2026Location:Farmington Junior HighPOSITION TITLE: Special Education ParaprofessionalFLSA: Non-ExemptREPORTS TO: District LEA & PrincipalLENGTH OF CONTRACT: 178 daysMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Associates degree, 60 college credit hours, or passing score on ParaPro Praxis exam or other acceptable measures.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Share and lead the vision to create an individualized education program for each student.Facilitate all targeted interventions and assisting in courses as required.Liaison between instructors and students.Provide individual or small group instruction.Assist in implementing behavior management activities.Perform clerical duties which may include: collection and recording of data, preparing classroom materials, and entering data into a computer program.Attend conferences or meetings, as deemed appropriate/necessary.Attend appropriate training sessions. If applicable, annually obtain a specified number of professional development hours.Accompany students to general education classroom, cafeteria, playground, restroom, and or other locations on the school campus.Participate in community based instruction activities.Conduct student programming assessments and/or screenings, per instrument administration guidelines/evaluator qualifications.Be familiar with technology and have the capacity to learn quickly. Demonstrate the willingness to learn procedures when working with students and have a solid understanding of classroom management.Participates in the implementation of the IEP goals for the purpose of meeting IEP goals and/or district benchmarks.Completes the required module trainings required by ADE for paraprofessionalsParticipates in the implementation of student behavior plans for the purpose of ensuring effective and safe student learning.Provides instruction, under the supervision of the teacher, to the students in a variety of individual or group activities for the purpose of reinforcing instructional objectives; implementing IEP plans, and ensuring students' success in school.Maintain emotional control under stress.Other duties as assigned.
