This is a high-impact role at the convergence of regulatory counsel, complex transactions, and the rapidly evolving digital finance landscape.You will advise sophisticated clients from established financial institutions to cutting-edge fintech and crypto companies on their most consequential regulatory and transactional matters. The role offers exposure to innovative business models and emerging technologies across the digital finance ecosystem.Practice AreasFintech Regulatory · Payments & Money Transmission · Crypto & Digital Assets · Bank Partnerships · M&A & Investments · Capital Markets · Licensing & Compliance · BlockchainThe RoleKey responsibilities include:Advising fintech companies, banks, and institutional clients on federal and state regulatory requirements, including licensing, compliance frameworks, and bank partnership structuresCounselling clients on payments regulation, money transmission laws, and the evolving regulatory landscape for digital assets, cryptocurrency, and blockchain-based productsLeading and supporting M&A transactions, strategic investments, and capital markets activity involving fintech and financial services companiesDrafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, including bank partnership agreements, program manager agreements, and technology contractsMonitoring and analysing regulatory developments across key federal and state agencies, delivering actionable guidance to clientsCollaborating with multidisciplinary teams on cross-border transactions and regulatory mattersCandidate ProfileJ.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials3–5 years of experience at a top-tier law firm or relevant regulatory agencyExperience in fintech regulatory matters, financial services transactions, or bothKnowledge of payments, digital assets, crypto regulation, or emerging fintech business models preferredAdmission to practice in New York and/or California, or eligibility for admissionExceptional written and oral communication skillsAbility to translate complex regulatory issues into practical business adviceEntrepreneurial mindset and interest in a fast-moving, innovative practice areaWhy ApplyWork at the forefront of fintech, payments, and digital assetsExposure to high-growth companies and leading financial institutionsComplex regulatory and transactional workCollaborative, cross-border platformStrong career progression within a growing practice
