CMM Operator — Aerospace ManufacturingKMK Machining – Big Rapids, MichiganJoin a close-knit team shaping precision aerospace components!Position SummaryWe are a family-owned aerospace manufacturer seeking a detail-oriented and quality-driven CMM Operator to support precision manufacturing and inspection activities within a regulated aerospace and defense environment. The ideal candidate will have experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T, and performing inspection activities in compliance with ITAR/ISO 9001:2015/AS9100/CMMC Level 2 requirements. This experience is desired in the ideal candidate but we are able to train an individual with the appropriate personal traits.What You’ll DoOperate and program CMM equipment to perform dimensional inspections on machined components and assemblies.Conduct first article inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 requirements.Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, and GD&T requirements.Verify product conformance using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and comparators.Generate and maintain inspection reports, CMM programs, and quality documentation.Support production, engineering, and quality teams with inspection-related activities and problem resolution.Identify nonconforming material and assist with root cause investigations and corrective actions.Ensure all inspection records and technical data are handled in compliance with ITAR and CMMC requirements.Maintain calibration awareness and proper handling of inspection equipment.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, inspection efficiency, and process capability.Follow company quality management system procedures and safety policies.What We’re Looking ForExperience in a precision manufacturing or aerospace quality control environment.Familiarity with CMM operation and metrology tools (Calypso, PolyWorks, PC-DMIS, or similar software a plus).
