Summary
The Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and executing all purchasing strategies to optimize the company’s supply chain. This position leads a team of Sourcing Specialists & Assistants, ensuring the timely procurement of materials, components, and services at the best value while maintaining the highest quality standards. The role focuses on supplier management, cost reduction, risk mitigation, and fostering long-term supplier relationships to support the company’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership:
Manage and mentor a team of Sourcing Specialists & Assistants, fostering professional growth and development.
Set team objectives, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback using department KPI structure.
Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across the team and other departments.
Strategic Sourcing:
Develop and implement global sourcing strategies aligned with company objectives to achieve cost savings and improve operational efficiency.
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, emerging trends, and competitive pricing structures.
Lead supplier negotiations, including pricing, contracts, and terms, to achieve favorable agreements.
Supplier Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable supply and continuous improvement.
Monitor supplier performance metrics, including quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness, and address performance issues as necessary.
Evaluate and approve new suppliers to expand and strengthen the supply base.
Cost Management:
Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing, value engineering, and supplier consolidation.
Track and report cost savings and budget adherence.
Collaborate with cross functional teams to forecast sourcing costs and manage financial risks.
Risk Mitigation & Compliance:
Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain, including geopolitical, environmental, and market-related risks.
Ensure all sourcing activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and international trade regulations.
Develop contingency plans to ensure supply chain resilience.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or related.
7+ years of experience in global sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
Proven experience managing a team and driving cross-functional collaboration.
Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
In-depth understanding of global supply chain dynamics, sourcing best practices, and market trends.
Proficient in ERP systems and sourcing tools; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of international trade laws, customs regulations, and compliance requirements.
Willingness to travel to supplier and manufacturing sites.
