Electrical Controls Technician - R&D FacilitiesCorning is seeking an Electrical Controls Technician – R&D Facilities to support electrical, controls, and automation systems at our Sullivan Park location in Painted Post, NY. This is a hands-on, onsite role focused on the installation, troubleshooting, commissioning, maintenance, and support of control systems serving research labs, building infrastructure, and specialized equipment. If you enjoy hands-on technical work, problem solving, and learning across a wide range of control systems, this is a strong opportunity to grow your career.Key Responsibilities:Troubleshoot and maintain electrical and control systems that support facility operations and R&D equipmentMonitor and support building automation systems, including basic diagnostics and maintenance activitiesBuild, wire, and assemble control panels, including component installation and layout supportPerform point-to-point wiring and follow standards for labeling, routing, and terminationSupport startup and troubleshooting of PLC-controlled equipment, including I/O validationAssist with calibration and troubleshooting of instrumentation signals, including 4–20 mA, 0–10 VDC, thermocouples, and RTDsPerform system checkout, point-to-point verification, and support point-to-graphic validationSupport BAS controller wiring, addressing, commissioning, and checkoutAssist with heating systems and PID control loop supportRead and interpret electrical schematics and assist with drawing redlines and updatesWork closely with engineers and senior technicians to complete project work and improve system reliabilityMinimum Qualifications:Associate degree or above OR technical training in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related fieldExperience reading and interpreting electrical schematicsTroubleshooting experience with electrical or control systemsPreferred Qualifications:Experience with control panel wiring, assembly, or installationExperience with instrumentation and industrial control signalsExposure to PLCs, building automation systems, or related control systemsExposure to heating systems, temperature controls, or PID loopsThe range for this position is $71,650.00 - $98,520.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.Corning offers you the total package.
