Wastewater Operator (Level A / III)Location: Millsboro, Delaware Employment Type: Full-Time Shift: Open to 2nd or 3rd Shift The Wastewater Operator (Level A / Level III) is responsible for operating, maintaining, and ensuring regulatory compliance of the wastewater treatment system. This role supports environmental compliance initiatives, oversees monitoring and reporting activities, and performs hands-on operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of wastewater equipment. The operator will act in a Direct Responsible Charge (DRC) capacity and support federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in controlling and maintaining the overall environmental compliance program for the wastewater treatment systemOversee required monitoring, sampling, and regulatory reporting in compliance with federal, state, and local regulationsOperate and maintain wastewater treatment systems, including pumps and equipmentPerform process control laboratory work and analyze resultsMaintain accurate compliance and operational recordsAdhere to all safety protocols, including PPE usage, Lockout/Tagout, and Process Safety Management (PSM)Respond to system repairs and support preventive maintenance schedulesSupport continuous improvement of wastewater treatment operationsEducation & Experience RequirementsAssociate's Degree in Science, Engineering, or equivalent approved courseworkMinimum 4 years of operating experience in Class II or higher wastewater facilitiesMinimum 2 years serving in a Direct Responsible Charge (DRC) roleLevel III Wastewater License (Level A or Master License preferred)Required Skills & CertificationsWastewater Operator License (Level III or higher)Valid Driver's LicenseStrong knowledge of wastewater treatment operations and regulatory complianceAbility to rebuild and maintain pumps and wastewater equipmentStrong documentation and reporting skillsIdeal Candidate ProfileHolds a Level A or Master Wastewater LicenseHas 2+ years of Direct Responsible Charge experienceHas 4+ years of Class II or higher wastewater facility experienceOpen to working 2nd or 3rd shiftStrong safety mindset and compliance-driven approach
