The role requires close collaboration between hardware and software, including hardware bring‑up, low‑level driver development, and system integrationWe need a candidate with direct EE experience and EPM/PM experience to best fit for this positionKey ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and debug embedded firmware for microcontrollers and embedded processorsPerform hardware bring‑up for new boards, including validation of schematics and PCB designsWrite low‑level drivers for peripherals such as GPIO, ADC, timers, UART, SPI, I²C, CANImplement and maintain bare‑metal or RTOS‑based firmware (e.g., FreeRTOS)Collaborate with hardware engineers on schematic reviews, component selection, and design improvementsOptimize system performance, power consumption, and reliabilityDevelop firmware for bootloaders, firmware updates, and diagnosticsCreate and maintain technical documentation, test procedures, and design specificationsSupport manufacturing, testing, and field issue analysisRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field2+ years of experience in embedded firmware developmentStrong proficiency in Embedded C (C/C++ preferred)Solid understanding of: Microcontroller architectures (ARM Cortex‑M preferred)Memory‑mapped I/O and registersInterrupts, timers, and DMAHands‑on experience with hardware debugging and board bring‑upKnowledge of analog and digital electronicsFamiliarity with communication protocols (UART, SPI, I²C, CAN)Ability to read and interpret schematics and datasheetsPreferred QualificationsExperience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX)Basic PCB design or review experience (Altium, KiCad, Eagle)Familiarity with power management, EMI/EMC considerationsExperience in IoT / Automotive / Industrial embedded systemsExposure to CI/CD, unit testing, or firmware automationKnowledge of safety or embedded compliance standards (ISO 26262, MISRA)Pay and BenefitsPay Range Minimum: $115000/annumPay Range Maximum: $176000/annumHCLTech is an equal opportunity employer, committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees regardless of race, religion, sex, color, age, national origin, pregnancy, sexual orientation, physical disability or genetic information, military or veteran status, or any other protected classification, in accordance with federal, state, and/or local law.
