Master Carpenter

Master Carpenter (Custom Home Builder & Remodeler) Company Overview We are a 38-year-old custom home builder and remodeler known for high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. We’re growing and looking to add a skilled Master Carpenter to our team. Role Overview The Master Carpenter will lead and execute high-quality residential construction and remodeling projects. This role requires strong technical skill, reliability, and the ability to work independently or with a team to deliver exceptional results. Key Responsibilities Perform finish and custom carpentry work on residential projects Interpret and build from blueprints and design plans Install doors, windows, trim, and cabinetry Build custom features such as built-ins, benches, and shelving Construct and install stair systems and railings Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and timeline expectations Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and team members Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site Required Skills & Experience Proven experience in custom carpentry and residential construction Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints Demonstrated expertise in: Window installation Interior & exterior door installation Trim work (baseboard, shoe, crown molding) Cabinet installation (base and wall) Custom woodworking (built-ins, shelving, etc.) Stair building and railing installation Ability to lift and handle heavy materials Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Strong work ethic and reliability Clear and effective communication skills Positive, solutions-focused attitude Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have) Experience with: Rough framing Roofing Siding Basic electrical Basic plumbing Experience leading projects or mentoring junior carpenters Familiarity with modern tools/technology [e.g., laser levels, project apps] Tools & Equipment Company supplies all high level, expensive tools [saws, drills, vacuums, etc.] Work Environment Indoor/outdoor work in varying weather conditions Physical requirements: lifting, standing, bending, climbing Growth Opportunities Can transition from a carpenter role into production management or sales.
