Produce Clerk

Overview We are looking for a friendly and detail-oriented Produce Clerk to join our retail team. In this role, you'll be the go-to person for managing fresh produce displays, ensuring our customers find high-quality fruits and vegetables, and maintaining a clean, organized shopping environment. Responsibilities Stock, organize, and display fresh produce items to attract customers and promote sales. Use inventory management systems and RF scanners to track stock levels and ensure accurate inventory control. Load and unload shipments using equipment like pallet jacks and forklifts, ensuring safe handling of heavy loads. Maintain cleanliness of the produce area, including packaging, sanitation, and overall upkeep to meet health standards. Assist customers with their questions about produce options, prices, and nutritional information, providing excellent customer service. Support shipping and receiving processes by verifying deliveries and organizing stock efficiently. Help with merchandising efforts to create appealing displays that encourage sales and enhance the shopping experience. Qualifications Prior warehouse experience or retail sales background is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory management and stock rotation. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during stocking or unloading tasks. Proficiency with tools like RF scanners, pallet jacks, and forklift operation is a plus. Excellent communication skills in multiple languages are advantageous for serving diverse customers. Knowledge of grocery store operations, including merchandising, packaging, cleaning, and cashiering is beneficial. A positive attitude with good teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments.
