Every program is designed with our clients in mind; we are "client-centric."JOB PURPOSEThe Meals on Wheels Coordinator/Driver is responsible for ensuring effective and compassionate delivery of home-delivered meal services to eligible clients while supporting daily program operations. This position serves as both a driver and an administrative coordinator, providing direct meal delivery support and assisting with client intake, service continuity, and communication between clients, caregivers, case managers, and internal staff. The role works closely with the Meals on Wheels Manager to maintain efficient service, address client needs, and ensure excellent program operations with dignity and respect.ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTSAs a mission driven nonprofit organization, all employees are required to contribute to organization wide initiatives that support community impact. This includes participation in up to (6) six Pop-Up and Give events annually. These occur outside of standard business hours and are scheduled on the third Saturday of the month.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMeal Delivery and Driving 80% Loading, unloading, preparing, inspecting, and operating delivery vehicles safelyTransporting and delivering meals and essential items to clients in a timely and respectful mannerReviewing items prior to delivery to ensure quality and freshnessAbiding by all transportation laws, safety regulations, and maintaining a clean driving recordWearing The Just One Project branded clothing while in the communityMonitoring vehicle wear and tear and reporting maintenance needs promptlyEscalating unsafe vehicles, driving conditions, or delivery concerns to the Meals on Wheels ManagerProviding real time feedback on route barriers, client needs, and delivery challengesClient Coordination and Program Administration 20%Reaching out to clients based on referrals to assess eligibility, gather intake information, and explain program servicesServing as a liaison between clients, caregivers, social workers, and case managers to support broader client needsMonitoring client wellness and service satisfaction, reporting significant changes in condition or service needsResponding promptly to client inquiries, concerns, or delivery issues with empathy and professionalismSupporting route coordination and adjustments when the Meals on Wheels Manager is unavailableTracking meal counts, delivery statistics, client changes, and program documentation for reportingAssisting with contingency planning to ensure uninterrupted service during emergencies, severe weather, holidays, or disruptionsMaintaining accurate and confidential client records in Salesforce or other systemsAny other job duties as assignedREQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIESBuilds rapport with diverse populations with compassion, professionalism, and cultural sensitivityStrong organizational skills and attention to detail in scheduling, data entry, and service coordinationAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively across departmentsMaintains confidentiality and adheres to data privacy standardsExcellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, volunteers, and internal teamsProactive and resourceful in resolving service delivery challengesAdaptable and responsive to shifting priorities and urgent client needsFamiliarity with route planning, GPS navigation, and safe loading and unloading practicesKnowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety protocolsProficient in Salesforce or other client management systemsStrong working knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office SuiteEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent 3+ years of professional driving experience with box trucks, vans, or other large vehicles 2+ years of administrative, client services, preferably in a social services or community-based organization. Proven professional driving experience with a clean driving record Must obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Food Handlers Card within thirty days of hire due to required participation in food distribution events.Must possess valid unrestricted driver's licensePreferred Qualifications1+ year of Nonprofit experienceExperience working with vulnerable populations or community based programsWORK SCHEDULE AND CLASSIFICATIONThis is a Temporary full time position approximately 40 hours per week from until 11/30/2026Standard work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm with flexibility as needed.Occasional on-call or emergency support may be required.TRAVEL REQUIREMENTSIf the position requires travel to perform essential job duties, the employee must maintain a valid driver's license and meet the organization's insurability requirements.
